You’ll explore Arequipa, Peru’s second-largest city, during four dreamlike days. You’ll discover its colonial-style architecture and beautiful churches, as well as the pampas and volcanoes on the outskirts that offer spectacular scenery. You’ll be able to admire the condors soaring over the Colca Canyon—one of the deepest in the world—and share unforgettable moments with the local communities.
Arequipa. Stroll through the ancient “forbidden city” of Santa Catalina, visit the Jesuit church, and enjoy the majestic views of the Misti volcano.
Santa Catalina Monastery. An authentic medieval cloister built in 1579 that, like a small religious citadel, remains in use to this day.
Colca Canyon. Marvel at the grace of the condors gliding over this 4,000-meter-deep valley and visit some of the remote villages in the area.

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel to begin the trip to Chivay. You’ll make a brief stop in Patahuasi, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample local herbal teas and use the restroom. The journey will continue through Viscachani and the Toccra wetlands, home to alpacas, vicuñas, and various migratory birds. You will then arrive at Patapampa, the “Viewpoint of the Andes” (4,910 m.a.s.l.), from where you can admire the imposing volcanic range. Afterward, you will begin the descent to the town of Chivay (3,635 m.a.s.l.), where you will arrive around noon. After lunch, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to rest and enjoy the hotel’s facilities or explore the surrounding area on your own.

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel to begin the journey to the town of Yanque, where you’ll start the day with a stroll through its historic streets. You’ll continue on to the famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, the best spot to take in the vastness of the Colca Canyon and, weather permitting, watch the majestic flight of the Andean condor. Next, you’ll visit the Antahuilque viewpoint, with breathtaking views of the pre-Inca terraces, and make a stop in the town of Maca, where you’ll find a picturesque colonial church and local handicrafts.
