The first stop will be at the Moray archaeological site, known for its mysterious concentric circular terraces that feature different microclimates. Next, you’ll continue on to Maras, home to the historic pre-Columbian salt mines that remain in operation to this day, creating a breathtaking scene with their salt lagoons. At the end of the tour, you’ll return to your hotel.

*Please note that, since this is a shared tour, the pickup window is 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

The Cusco Tourist Ticket for the Sacred Valley (partial BTC), included in the itinerary, is a personal and non-transferable document that grants access to the following attractions within the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Moray, and Chinchero.

DAY 4 | Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo | Lunch at the Ollantaytambo Hostel

Begin the tour to the Pisac market. The market features various shops that display and sell products crafted by local residents. You can find textiles, carvings, and replicas of ancient Inca artifacts. Next, head to the designated restaurant for lunch, followed by a visit to Ollantaytambo Park. The town of Ollantaytambo is a classic example of Inca urban planning that remains intact to this day. Pachacútec (1438–1471) conquered the town, destroyed it, and rebuilt it as part of his empire; today, it is considered one of the most important archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. At the end of the tour, you’ll travel to the Sacred Valley.

For lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious pachamanca, a traditional Inca dish cooked in hot rocks underground—the name means “earth oven” in Quechua. Begin this experience by helping to prepare the pachamanca and learning about its rich history and culture. The menu includes chicken, pork, and lamb, accompanied by Andean potatoes, sweet potatoes, organic vegetables, homemade salad, traditional sauces, and chicha morada. This activity lasts 2 hours.

One night’s lodging in Urubamba at a selected hotel; breakfast and lunch included.

At the end of the visit, you’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes to begin your journey back to Cusco. This tour is shared with other passengers.
